Krispy Kreme Opens its Third Davao Branch at SM Lanang Premier

Krispy Kreme continues to spoil Davaoenos’ sweet palate by opening its third Davao branch at the heart of SM Lanang Premier, one of Davao’s premier shopping destinations. The unveiling of the the brand’s third store in the region was celebrated with the chosen children from the local foundation, the Orphanage of St.Jerome. The kids were treated to a gift giving ceremony and a doughnut dipping session, where they experienced designing their own doughnuts.

“Krispy Kreme is a brand that’s all about the gift of sharing,” says Mark Gamboa, Marketing Director of Krispy Kreme Philippines. “And along with our expansion to satisfy the palates of more Filipinos, the opening of this new branch will bring with it our many efforts to continue the legacy of the brand’s ‘Share the Gift of Joy’ campaign in the country.”

Calling everyone to work hand-in-hand towards change, Krispy Kreme sets aside P20 for every sale of the brand’s specially designed Tin Can for its partner charities—12 organizations that care for the environment: ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. – Bantay Kalikasan and Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society Inc.; for creativity: Cultural Center of the Philippines, Visual Arts and Museum Division; for lives: Caritas Manila Inc., Philippine Red Cross, and ICanServe Foundation Inc.; for our animal friends: Philippine Animal Welfare Society; and of course, for kids: Operation Smile Philippines, Kythe Inc., Development and Accessibility Fund for the Deaf Inc., Autism Society Philippines, and Friends of Hope Inc.

And to push the envelope some more, Krispy Kreme gives its share of support for the Philippine Red Cross in Davao by allocating P10 for to the charity for every dozen of doughnuts sold.

Clawdaddy’s Great American Picnic Opens its Door to Davao

One of the newest restaurants to hit the shores of Davao is Clawdaddy’s Great American Picnic. They recently opened their first branch in the city  at SM Lanang Premier and I was privileged to be one of the few who were invited to an afternoon of food tasting. Executive Chef, Peter Ayson prepared a lineup of exquisite dishes featuring the best recipes in the house.

SumoSam Legacy Opens at SM Lanang Premier Davao

Yesterday, I was invited to the opening of SumoSam Legacy at SM Lanang Premier. The event was graced by actor, top restaurateur, and co-owner of SumoSam, Mr. Marvin Agustin. Also present was Mr. Raymund Magdaluyo, co-owner, and Mr. Carlo Lorenzana, Davao Partner of SumoSam. It was a simple and intimate afternoon gathering with some media and blogger friends.
SumoSam Legacy is the 3rd Sumo Sam branch in Davao following Abreeza Mall and SM South Annex, but what sets SumoSam Legacy from the first two branches is that, it serves specialized dishes that are not offered in regular branches. Mr. Magdaluyo shares that SumoSam here in Davao offers lower prices as compared to Manila, since resources here are just within reach.
On to the food. It wasn’t my first time to dine at SumoSam since I’ve been to their SM Annex branch  a couple of times before. However, it was my first time to truly indulge on their sushi rolls, which if I may put, the best I’ve ever tried, so far.

Tokyo Tokyo Now Serving at SM Lanang Premier

Yesterday, I, along with my fellow Davao Bloggers, were invited to attend the Davao Store opening of Tokyo Tokyo at SM Lanang Premiere; the first branch of the store outside Metro Manila. I’ve heard about Tokyo Tokyo for as long as I can remember, but I never got around to try it because I’m never in Manila. I was surprised to know that the store has been around for 30 years already and yet it was their first time to venture outside the corners of Manila. Thank goodness they chose Davao City to be their first home in Vis-Min.

“As we officially open the doors of Tokyo Tokyo in the heart of Davao, we hope to open a whole new dining experience for all Davaoeños – one of quality, affordable and delicious Japanese cuisine. We’re very happy to be opening not only the first branch to be built outside of Luzon, but also the beginning of our long-awaited expansion plans in the VisMin Region,” said Tokyo Tokyo’s Marketing Manager Joan Pamplona.

and Tokyo Tokyo General Manager Chacha Juinio.

The management of Tokyo Tokyo treated their guests to some of their best-sellers such as:

Chicken Teriyaki
Beef Misono
California Maki
Prawn Tempura

Predictably my personal fave! Whenever I dine at Japanese restaurants, prawn tempura is the first thing I look for.
