A couple of weeks back, I was strolling around SM Lanang premier with my family when I spotted French Baker
. As a natural response of a sugar foodie, I rushed to their stall and marveled over their delicious offerings. Merely looking at their pastries gave me a flicker of delight, and what’s more? The breads are beautifully crafted and pleasing to the eyes. But if there’s one thing that really caught my attention, it’s their pretty Parisian French Macarons. I wanted to buy at that time, but we were in a hurry. Instead, I made a mental note to come back some other day and give them a try.
Last Saturday, I finally had a chance to visit SM Lanang again to watch Les Miserables ( I don’t frequently visit that mall because it’s too far from where I live). Anyway, while waiting for Yuan, I took the chance to indulge on French Baker’s Parisian Macarons.

Aren’t they pretty? They’re so beautiful, I didn’t wanna eat them! But the verdict must be done and so I took a bite and I was suddenly in euphoria. They are the kind of french macarons that I prefer: crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside, the meringue is not too sweet, and the filling is just enough to give the macaron an interesting taste. I also like that the size is just right; not too small that you won’t be able to enjoy it, but not too big that you’d be overwhelmed by it.
I tried their Raspberry and Chocolate variants. I love them both and by far, These are the best french macaron to date! French Baker is yet another pastry shop that I will surely visit again and again. Next on my list: Hokkaido Cake!
Have you tried these yet? What variant is your favorite?
