SumoSam Legacy Opens at SM Lanang Premier Davao

Yesterday, I was invited to the opening of SumoSam Legacy at SM Lanang Premier. The event was graced by actor, top restaurateur, and co-owner of SumoSam, Mr. Marvin Agustin. Also present was Mr. Raymund Magdaluyo, co-owner, and Mr. Carlo Lorenzana, Davao Partner of SumoSam. It was a simple and intimate afternoon gathering with some media and blogger friends.

SumoSam Legacy is the 3rd Sumo Sam branch in Davao following Abreeza Mall and SM South Annex, but what sets SumoSam Legacy from the first two branches is that, it serves specialized dishes that are not offered in regular branches. Mr. Magdaluyo shares that SumoSam here in Davao offers lower prices as compared to Manila, since resources here are just within reach.

On to the food. It wasn’t my first time to dine at SumoSam since I’ve been to their SM Annex branch  a couple of times before. However, it was my first time to truly indulge on their sushi rolls, which if I may put, the best I’ve ever tried, so far.

Sbarro Fiesta Italiana

My dad is a huge lover of pizza. Every payday, he would always (jokingly) ask my sisters and I to buy him pizza. We sometimes bully him that soon he will grow pepperoni on his hair. LOL! Anyway, last Sunday, we had a simple post-celebration of his birthday at Sbarro. He had a big smile plastered on his face the whole time. That moment was priceless. 🙂

Since we wanted to save on our budget, we decided to try Fiesta Italiana (799php), which is a bucket meal consisting two 10-inch pizza, Regular Spaghetti, Ziti Spaghetti, Green Ceasar and Chicken Salad, and 1.5L Coke. The meal is meant for a small group of 4. We’re a family of five, but everything was more than enough for us.

Grab A Crab with Love

Yesterday, Yuan and I celebrated out 6th year together. I was supposed to attend a Max’s Bloggers event last night, thinking that we wouldn’t be able to celebrate due to busyness and stuff. But thank God, He made our simple dinner date possible. Oh how time flies. I could still remember those days when we were still these clingy youngsters with raging hormones. Ew, right? Now we just bully each other around.

Yuan: Pag gym na oi. (You need to start going to the gym!)
Me: Yeah! Pero kalaki ng tiyan mo, mag-jogging ka nga! (Yeah, but hey, your stomach is getting bigger, you should start jogging)

LOL! Anyway, enough of that.

Going Korean With BonChon Chicken

A couple of weeks ago, my sister and I went to visit BonChon Chicken at SM Davao Annex. I’ve read bad reviews about it, but like a curious cat, I tried it anyway. For this particular visit, we skipped rice because it was around 3pm. We weren’t in the mood for some heavy meal at that time.

Here’s what we got:

We sampled their Soy Garlic Chicken Sandwhich with Fries (125php). The serving isn’t too big, but my sister and I just shared the serving since we weren’t really hungry. I did not expect much due to the reviews I’ve read, but to my surprise, it’s actually not that bad. I understand why some people (Filipinos) say it’s not good, because well, the chicken is cooked the Korean way. Naturally, there needs to be some adjustment to something that is not our own. Anyway, for me, I liked the soy garlic chicken. It’s way better than Chicken Charlie . It’s not too savory, but I appreciate that the chicken patty is crispy outside and soft inside, not to mention generous amount per serving. I also like that the bread used for this particular sandwich is wheat bread. What’s healthy mommy?
