Foodgasm at Tiny Kitchen

As mentioned in my previous post, I attended the Krispy Kreme Pre-launch last night held at Tiny Kitchen, a Spanish Restaurant located along F.Torres Street, Davao City. I would’ve wanted to write a review for these honest-to-goodness dishes, but sadly, I’m afraid my review won’t give justice since we were having dinner simultaneously while the meeting was on-going. I didn’t pay attention to the food. Forgive me also if I can’t provide the names of the dishes. Told ya, I wasn’t really focused on the food, but I do hope this post will give you an idea on what to expect at Tiny Kitchen.
On a different light, I also wanted to road test my new camera and see if it will still give me decent photos to support my food blog (I’m a food blogger wannabe, if that isn’t too obvious yet). For months, I have been using Yuan’s Canon IXUS 210 and I was happy with the quality of photos it gave me. There was a reason why his cam stayed with me for so many months, and even though I have the slightest right to own it, still I had to give it to him when he needed it. This was the reason why I bought a new camera out of impulse two days ago.
I had a few events scheduled ahead of me then and I could not imagine how I’ll survive these events without a cam. So yes, I picked the most decent one that fits the bill, which happens to be Canon Powershot A3300 IS. It felt good to finally have my own camera for my blogging needs, however, I was really worried that it won’t give me the quality that IXUS spoiled me with. I snapped a couple of food photos last night:

Krispy Kreme is Coming to Town

Now, Davaoeños need not  to go to Manila or wait for their relatives/friends from Manila to bring home dozens of Krispy Kreme. No need to drool over pictures of delectable, sweet round doughnuts that we can only taste in our dreams. Finally, this U.S. Franchised doughnuts brand is all set to give Davaoeños not just one, but three branches. That’s right. Three! These will be at SM Annex, Abreeza Mall, and SM Lanang Premier (opening on November)
Krispy Kreme Davao Serving Soon
I attended their Pre-launch last night at Tiny Kitchen and was able to meet Mark and Steph, the marketing team of Krispy Kreme. They shared a whole lot of good news for us.

“In whichever part of the country, you will find that Filipinos have a naturally soft spot for sweets,” notes Mark Gamboa, Marketing Manager of Krispy Kreme Philippines. “Having already satisfying our markets in Luzon and Visayas, we decided that we couldn’t leave Mindanao out, and so we are now finally bringing the confectionary goodness of our brand to the south as we expand in the region.”

To complete the Krispy Kreme experience for Davaoeños, its Abreeza Mall branch will feature the Baked Kitchen, where the brand’s Baked Creations are freshly rolled out every day. Meanwhile, its outlet at The Annex at SM City Davao—its first 4th drive-thru store in the country set to operate in its own extended hours from 6am to 1am—will boast of the Doughnut Factory, where thousands of everyone’s much-loved Original Glazed Doughnuts are produced daily.”

Discussing the details for the opening.
Here’s something that I know for sure would shake you up. Krispy Kreme will open two branches on October 20, 2012; 9 am at SM Annex and 12nn at Abreeza Mall. Now, get this. Be the first one on the line and you’ll get a Free One (1) year supply of Krispy Kreme doughnuts and Coffee. Imagine, that’s 52 dozens of doughnuts and 365 cups of coffee. The second on the line gets 6 months supply of coffee and doughnuts, third one gets 3 months supply, and finally, the 4th to 100th on the line gets 1 month supply!  Not only that, SM Annex will have a drive thru, so be the first one on your car to fall in line and you’ll get the same deal. There will be a lot of freebies, too. If that’s not awesome sauce, I don’t know what is.
