Yogo Frozen Yogurt: Comfort in a Tub

As a self-confessed dessert lover, it goes without saying that Frozen Yogurt is included in my list of favorite sweet things. I have this love affair with yogurt because not only they are delicious, they are also packed with a lot of health benefits. These include being an excellent source of antioxidant, helps lower cholesterol, and boosts immunity to name a few. Plus, what’s good for the internal body is generally good for the skin. Yay for that! One frozen yogurt indulgence that I have recently tried is Yogo by Coffee Cat.
Yogo Premium Frozen Yogurt – 115php/medium
I ordered a medium sized tub topped with Strawberry and Dark Chocolate Chips. This isn’t my usual concoction as I always go for corn flakes and mochi balls. Unfortunately, Yogo doesn’t have them, so I opted for the next best toppings, at least for me.
To be honest, I have been to almost all frozen yogurt shops in the city and for me, most if not all of them taste the same. The yogurt itself is a bit tangy, while the  flavors will depend on the toppings that you choose. But what I like about Yogo is 1.) They have a hot pink tub which is really good on pictures 2.) Their serving is plenty generous. As you can see on the photo above, the yogurt is already peeking through the rim, which goes to show that the tub is really filled up, and 3.) It’s cheaper than some froyo that I know. If not mistaken, this serving would already cost me around 135php in another brand.
I guess, my one and only complain is that, I wish they have more toppings to choose from. Nonetheless, like any other frozen yogurt I’ve tried, this one is surely a comfort in a tub! Yogurt generally makes me feel good simply because I know it’s friendly to my body.

Yogo is located at the 4th floor of Gaisano Mall Davao, Beside Extreme Cinema.

Golden Euphoria: Ferrero Rocher in a Cake

I’m a rigorous book reader, but lately, I’ve been having lapses in my reading momentum. I would usually reach a novel’s end cover in a span of three days (500 pages, more or less) even when I’m not in the mood. Recently though, I find it hard to finish one within a week. Is there such thing as “reader’s block”? I’m not sure. All I know is that, I needed to do something about it. I was pondering on how I could boost up and be inspired to read again. It didn’t take long for me to realize that chocolates were the way to go. My desperation to enjoy a good book brought me to Maitre Chocolatier Boutique Cafe (God’s gift to the chocolate-eating world!)

I ordered the one and only chocolate cake that I’ve tried in this cafe – The Golden Euphoria.

There’s no simpler way to describe this than saying, this is Ferrero Rocher in a cake. Golden Euphoria is basically a chocolate mousse cake with a touch of Fererro. I first had a taste of it last year and I could vividly remember how I fell in love with it. Indeed, it was love at first bite.

Davao City Says Hello to Krispy Kreme

Yesterday was an epic day to remember, as the world famous doughnuts and coffee brand, Krispy Kreme, finally opened its doors to selected media/bloggers and guests in two of their flagship branches in Mindanao – Abreeza Mall and SM Annex Davao.

When the hotlight is on, it means freshly baked doughnuts are served on the racks! Don’t miss it!

A media preview was held at their Abreeza Ayala mall branch where media guests were given the chance to taste their freshly baked doughnuts and kruffins. They also had a chance to design their own Krispy Kreme doughnuts to their own liking. This branch features the Baked Kitchen, where the brand’s baked creations are freshly rolled out everyday.

Come evening, cocktails were served at their SM Annex Branch where selected guests and members of the press witnessed the unveiling of a bigger and more spacious store. This outlet houses the Doughnut Factory, where thousands of Original Glazed Doughnuts are produced daily. They also feature the 4th drive thru store in the country. After the unveiling, unlimited Original Glazed Doughnuts and Signature Coffee where served, alongside with their other doughnuts creations and delicious chillers. I got to try their New York Cheesecake Doughnut and Caramel Latte Chiller, and got to take home a dozen of Original Glazed Doughnuts. It was a doughnut filled evening, Indeed!
